Cindy Melton joined Rice University’s Rice Management Company in 2012 as Treasury Manager, and now serves as Treasury and Operations Director, and Associate Treasurer. Her primary responsibilities for RMC are overseeing business operations, such as talent management, and supervising the implementation and ongoing management of systems used to support investment activity including document retention and performance reporting systems. In her university role, she oversees the cash and banking activity for the University and the endowment; serving as the primary manager for all banking relationships; determining the cash needs for the University, the endowment, and subsidiary companies; and reviewing account statements for appropriateness and accuracy. Previously, Ms. Melton worked 10 years at JPMorgan Chase in the Corporate Trust division. As a Vice President at Chase, she led a fifty‐person team monitoring $15 billion in CDO portfolios within the Structured Finance industry. She holds an M.B.A. in finance, and a Bachelor degree in business, both from the University of St. Thomas.
