Biography

Chief Matthew Rodrigue is a seasoned public safety executive with more than 25 years of progressive leadership experience in Texas law enforcement, currently serving as Chief of Police and Director of Emergency Management and School Safety for Spring Independent School District in the Houston region. Throughout his career, he has led complex organizations, managed large-scale budgets and personnel, and driven strategic initiatives focused on organizational excellence, accountability, and community trust. His leadership spans patrol operations, internal affairs, professional standards, emergency management, and executive-level strategic planning, with a consistent emphasis on developing high-performing teams and modernizing public safety operations to meet evolving community needs.


Beyond his professional responsibilities, Chief Rodrigue has demonstrated a deep and sustained commitment to community service through extensive nonprofit leadership and board involvement. He has held executive roles—including President, Vice President, and Treasurer—on the board of Montgomery County Children’s Safe Harbor, where he helped oversee multimillion-dollar budgets, capital campaigns, and fundraising initiatives in support of child advocacy and victim services. His community engagement philosophy centers on service, collaboration, and long-term impact, reflected in programs that strengthen families, support vulnerable populations, and build lasting partnerships between public institutions and the communities they serve.
